“Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton’s goddaughter, is included in the new rendition of “Wrecking Ball.”

Dolly Parton desires to impart knowledge to her goddaughter.

To that end, the musical great has collaborated with Miley Cyrus on a brand-new rendition of “Wrecking Ball,” a new track from Parton’s upcoming album of rock covers that was published Friday. Since Cyrus appears in the song and sings the chorus with her godmother, the music is not considered a cover in this instance.

The reimagined versions of famous rock songs on Dolly Parton’s upcoming album Rock Star demonstrate the breadth of the country queen’s musical abilities. But unlike most covers, the singer has enlisted many of the original artists of the songs to assist her.

The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” will be covered by Parton with Sting on board. Debbie Harry, the band’s legendary frontwoman, will appear in her rendition of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the remaining Beatles members, will appear on “Let It Be.”

The musician also enlisted some current celebrities. Lizzo joins her for Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” Chris Stapleton makes an appearance on Bob Seger’s “Night Moves,” and Pink and Brandi Carlile contribute to the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

Parton’s stated professional objective has been to release her rock album.
